How well do they isolate the sound that you are hearing coming from them from bleeding into drum mics when recording? I heard they isolate well as far as reducing the db from the outside, wondering about the other way around.

Have you looked at the extreme isolation headphones? A friend of mine has a pair and says they are the best he has used to date... http://www.mojopie.com/extreme.html

Yeah, i have those headphones as well. they work well. keep in mind that they don't take away the bottom end that much, but then again you might want that. the only gripe i have with those phones that they do not fully encompass the ears.

but they work well for me. i like the fact that i don't have to clean earplugs (although andy's thread is a good one [img]smile.gif[/img] or getting that itchy sensation in my ear due to dirty plugs. it doesn't take away too much sound and yet it takes away just enough to where you can 'feel' the drums. the headphones seem to give the drums an almost stereo like sound quality.

i've noticed the headphones that kenny aranoff uses. the ear pads have some type of gel in them to which they mold to your ears thus really diminishing outside noise. i believe they're almost twice as much as the VFs yet i'm sure they're twice as nice. i just wish i knew the name of them.

i think kenny uses meterophones....thats what i use and they are great...but a little heavy.

i can see how the would be heavy. all that metal hardware and gel. strong as military issue yet cool design.

you must've really beat the smack outta them phones, or playin' to metallica?
